Visiting teams from BATs, Heriot’s, Stew Mel Lions, North Berwick, Currie and Stirling County joined us for a great day of rugby in near-perfect weather last Sunday, 19th September.

Andre’s burger van (BBQ Street Food) and Craig’s coffee van (Bean ‘N Gone) kept the adults fed and watered and the ice cream van was a massive hit with the kids.

Thank you to Craig Eccleston and his team for securing the required building and car park access for us and for the great playing surfaces, to Chris Hunter for all his help behind the scenes and to all coaches for the massive collective effort getting everything prepared so the tournament could run as seamlessly as it did.

And a huge well done to all the players!

P3

P3’s had three squads playing - 34 players, 11 coaches, 4 refs and a volunteer blowing an air horn! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely!

P4

Three squads of P4 Warriors took to the pitch on Sunday… some getting their first experience of tournament rugby. A great number of impressive results against tough opposition… the players are truly loving their rugby and it is fantastic to see them put in some crunching tackles after only a few weeks of putting their cheeks to cheeks and using their bands of steel!! Exciting times for P4… made all the better when the weather holds out!

P5 (main picture)

A great day for the P5 squad. 3 teams fielded, 12 matches, 12 wins!

P6

The P6 Warriors fielded two teams. It was great to see so many spectators watching some superb rugby. Both P6 Warriors teams topped their respective pools undefeated!! This set up the “crunch” final “Lions” v “Tigers”. It was a very entertaining game, with both sides showing their attacking flair and commitment to defending their line. In the end, the “Lions” just edged it. A fantastic day for P6 Warriors. Parents, family & friends super proud of what they achieved!!

P7

A great day of rugby finished with BATs turning on the style to beat Stew Mel Lions in the final. The 2 Warrior’s teams knocked lumps out of each other in the 3rd/4th place play off. Happy faces and tired bodies all round. Well done everyone!
