Preview: Borel and Badenhorst into Super6 starting XV

Find out who is in the matchday squad to play at home to the Southern Knights on Friday night...

Head coach Fergus Pringle has named his starting XV and bench as the Super6 squad prepare to take on the Southern Knights at Myreside on Friday night (7.30pm).

This match has been rearranged from last Saturday and is the final one to played in the inaugural regular FOSROC Super6 season.

These two clubs, along with Heriot’s and the Ayrshire Bulls, will battle it out for the trophy over the weekends of March 20-22 and March 27-29 and by full-time tonight it will clear who will play who in the semi-finals.

The most likely outcome is that Watsonians and the Southern Knights will be meeting again in the last four because, if the Edinburgh side win this one, they will finish first in the table and the Borderers fourth.

And if Rob Chrystie’s Knights secure an away victory then the sides would likely finish second and third and clash again that way too.

Tighthead prop Nathan Borel and second-row Michael Badenhorst come into the 'Sonians starting XV for Harrison Courtney (bench) and Finlay Simpson (unavailable).

Jonny Gibson is added to the bench.

“We want to be more clinical and composed”

Ahead of the game, Pringle said: “The milder weather this week has helped the pitch recover and we now get to play another Friday night game at Myreside.

“The Knights will come to Myreside full of confidence off the back of some good performances, we have focused on improving certain aspects of our own game and want to be more clinical and composed.”
