The school have released an update regarding the clubhouse...
Below is an update from George Watson's College regarding Myreside Pavilion:
I know that many of you will have seen the devastating news, last Wednesday, that Myreside Pavilion suffered from a fire. The School's insurance company and structural engineers have been in the building and further structural surveys will be carried out this week to determine the extent of the damage and how much we have to rebuild and how long that will take.
This, of course, causes significant issues for the Watsonian Sections, Watsonian Club members and the many individuals who rely on the Pavilion as an integral part of sporting fixtures and other activities. Although areas of the building largely survived the impact of both the fire and water ingress, such as squash courts, the building operates on a single supply of services and we currently can not provide an estimated time for these being operational. This means that for the foreseeable future there will be no access to any area of the building.
If you have any questions, or concerns, then please direct these through the Development Office, by emailing watsonians@gwc.org.uk
WFC will keep members posted as things move forward and thank you for your understanding at this time.
