Steve Lawrie discusses this weeks selection

The 1XV travel to Bridgehaugh following an impressive win on the road last week, however, they face a stern challenge in Stirling County who have an impressive young team. The players know that they will have to be at their best for 80 minutes.

In the pack, Fraser Renwick starts at hooker and is joined by Jack Stanley who missed last week through injury. With Jamie Hodgsone playing for Edinburgh Rugby, young Harry Fisher gets his opportunity and debuts for the 1XV. Harry has been a consistent performer in the 2XV over the last season and will be relishing his opportunity on Saturday. He replaces Charlie McKill who is away with Scotland 7s in Spain. Ross Graham moves to 6.

The backline again shows a fairly settled starting lineup. Rory Steele who played his 100th match for the 1XV last weekend starts in place of Damien Hoyland, who unfortunately injured himself in the first half last week. Elsewhere, the back line is unchanged.

On the bench Scotland Under 18 prospect Kieran Watt comes up to cover the boiler house whilst Ali Harris returns from injury.

Head Coach Steve Lawrie "An important win at Millbrae last week which allowed us to stay in touch with the top 4 teams. Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Rory Steele on achieving 100 games in the process, no mean feat.

Stirling County, like ourselves, are in the chasing pack and come off the back of a victory that was full of character last week. They have a team full of young talent and have demonstrated a collective belief so far this is season. A tough challenge awaits at Bridgehaugh"

The match kicks off at 3pm at Bridgehaugh, Stirling. Unfortunately no live coverage again this week.

The 2XV are also on the road and are playing Stirling County on the adjoining pitch. Please note the earlier Kick Off time of 2pm for the 2XV. The 2XV will be looking to kick on following their impressive bonus point win on the road to Ayr last weekend.

I would like to also take this opportunity to congratulate Jamie Hodgson (Edinburgh Rugby), Charlie McKill (Scotland 7s), Craig Borthwick (Scotland Rugby League) and both Bryony Nelson & Lana Skeldon (Scotland Women) on their selection this weekend. A huge achievement and the club wish them all the best in their respective matches.
