Happy New Year to all our members and supporters!

From all at WFC we hope you had a great festive break and wish you a Happy New Year!

We are back to league business this weekend following a 'friendly' match at Goldenacre last Saturday against Heriots. Whilst we didn't win the match, it gave Head Coach Steve Lawrie an opportunity to have a look at a number of our 2XV players who have been pushing to make the step up to the 1XV squad. Thanks to all who attended and to Heriots for hosting.

This Saturday we welcome Glasgow Hawks to Myreside who are coming here on the back of a narrow defeat to Currie Cheiftains last weekend. Hawks mounted a serious second half comeback and lost out narrowly in the end. There is no doubt Finn Gillies and his men will be looking to start this weeks match as they finished their last. In the reverse fixture at the start of October, we raced into a first half lead before Hawks came out the block firing in the second half and ran in 4 tries of their own.

Keep an eye on our social media for the 1XV team announcement tomorrow.

Our 2XV host GHA on M1 at Myreside on Saturday with a 2pm kick off. Conan and his team always greatly appreciate the support, so please wrap up warm and come down and cheer on the 2XV who currently sit second in their league.

Our 3XV travel to the borders as they take on Jed-Forrest 2XV in what will be a tough match. Let's hope the boys haven't enjoyed themselves too much over Christmas!

PRE-MATCH LUNCH -v- Currie Chieftains

We welcome Currie Chieftains to Myreside a week on Saturday (19th January) and this will be our first pre-match lunch of 2019. Our resident MC John McLellan will be on hand to ensure the day runs smoothly and we have our injured 1XV Captain Craig Borthwick on hand for a Q&A session. To add to that, 1XV Assistant Coach and former Currie player Richard Snedden will be over to talk about his time at Malleny and how he is enjoying life at Myreside - whilst running through the team selection and thoughts on the game.
