He replaces the injured Lee Millar...

Joe Reynolds has been added to the Watsonians Rugby squad to replace the injured Lee Millar for the rest of the FOSROC Super6 2021 season.

On August 12 we told you how Millar had ruptured his bicep against Stirling County, information here, and Head Coach Fergus Pringle is pleased to have be able to add another experienced back into the group with six regular season games and then the Finals Weekend still to come between now and mid-October.

Reynolds, 31, is of course no stranger to Myreside having been one of the star players, mainly at centre, during the 2019/20 Super6 campaign before it was cut short.

On his return to the squad, Pringle said: "It’s great to welcome Joe back into the squad to cover for Lee’s season ending injury. He’ll be a real positive influence on the group and his experience will help the other backs in the squad.

"Joe is a real team man and was very keen to come and help out when the opportunity arose."

Reynolds, the New Zealand-born playmaker who first came to play in Scotland back in 2013, adds: “I’m happy to be back with Watsonians Rugby, I’ve seen a couple of the games this season and the lads look like they have started just like we finished in season one.

"The new additions to the squad have made a great start and I look forward to adding a bit of experience to the team, whether that’s helping out at training with some of the younger guys or getting the boots on for games."
