Scottish Rugby and the Welsh Rugby Union have announced the Cross Border fixtures for 2020.
The competition will take place from April through to May and will feature last season’s top six Indigo Group Premiership teams from Wales, along with the Fosroc Super6 teams.
There will be six rounds of competition, with each team hosting three games on home turf and all sides playing each other once.
Once the inaugural Fosroc Super6 season has reached its climax, clubs will then have the opportunity to pit their skills against sides from the Indigo Group Premiership sides, Merthyr, Cardiff, Pontypridd, Llandovery, Ebbw Vale and Aberavon.
On the announcement Fosroc Super6 Tournament Director Stephen Gemmell said, “We’re delighted to be able to announce these fixtures alongside the WRU. The tournament will provide our six teams with quality opposition against their experienced Welsh counterparts and will make for some intense, physical and, I am sure, entertaining rugby.
“Our clubs have enjoyed similar cross border matches in the old B&I Cup and these new fixtures are a great addition to our Super6 calendar and will provide a significant challenge for the players and coaches of all of our teams.”
Watsonians Rugby, Boroughmuir Bears and Heriot’s Rugby will host Cardiff, Llandovery and Merthyr respectively in their first round of fixtures, while the Southern Knights, Ayrshire Bulls and Stirling County all head to Wales in the opening round.
