Christmas Lunch!

Join us at Myreside on Saturday 8th December for our 'Former Players Christmas Lunch' before heading over to watch the 1XV play Boroughmuir in the Tennent's Premiership. The Clubhouse opens from 12 noon onwards and we ask you to be seated for lunch at 12.30pm.

We have our resident host John McLellan who will be keeping order. We have not one but TWO guest speakers for this Christmas bonanza

In the maroon corner....we have one of the finest 'non-tackling' full backs that has played for Watsonians - Willie Hunter. Willie is one of the finest after dinner speakers in Scotland, although we hear not so great at pre-match lunches! Partner in charge of the Residential department at leading Edinburgh Law firm Gillespie Macandrew, Willie spent over 10 seasons playing for the club before moving into a coaching role.

And in the blue corner....we have a former Scotland Internationalist who was part of THAT famous 1990 Grand Slam winning team - Sean Lineen. Sean, who won 29 Caps, spent his club days across the road at Boroughmuir and latterly coached the 1XV. He also had spells as Head Coach of Glasgow Warriors and assisted the National squad as backs coach. Sean is now 'Head of Acquisition' at Scottish Rugby and has been given the new role of overseeing player development in the Super 6.

We look forward to welcoming both Willie and Sean to Myreside!

So what more could you ask for?! Guest Speakers, a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, a raffle and a good chance to catch up with some of your old team mates! For those who fancy it, chuck on a Christmas jumper OR your old paying jersey and receive a complimentary 'Myreside Mulled Wine' on arrival.
