The Super6 squad had a useful friendly with a Newcastle Falcons XV on Saturday...

The Super6 squad returned from their festive break on Saturday, playing a Newcastle Falcons XV at The Greenyards in Melrose.

A number of players got valuable game time in their legs in the 31-5 loss ahead of a return to competitive action on January 18. It was especially good to see props Sam Grahamslaw and Jack Stanley on the pitch.

Ruaraidh Smith scored the 'Sonians try while the club would like to thank Melrose for the use of their facilities.

First plays second in the FOSROC Super6 this Saturday, with both teams sitting on 23 points, it should be a cracker when 'Sonians take on the Ayrshire Bulls so make sure you get along to Myreside - discounted tickets available for a limited time via here
