Squads heading to Peebles and North Berwick this Saturday...
Two Watsonians sevens squads will be in action on Saturday.
The 1st VII will be at the Peebles Sevens at The Gytes, it is the first Kings of the Sevens event for 2021/22 and the squad are in Pool B with Currie Chieftains and Selkirk.
The 2nd VII will be at the North Berwick Sevens at Recreation Park.
Andrew Bell, the Club XV head coach, said: “It’s been a long wait for competitive rugby so we’re really looking forward to getting two squads out this weekend.
"We’ve attracted a lot of new players to the club over the past year who have integrated really well with the rest of the squad which is packed with young exciting talent. This is the first chance for them to put on the WFC jersey and show what they can do which is really exciting.
Alasdair Davidson, who has achieved a huge amount of success in sevens at WFC will be leading the 1st VII for the first time, his experience alongside the likes of Finlay Broomfield and Stuart Allison - who have played high level sevens - will be a massive asset for the squad as we line up against some quality opposition."
