Scottish Rugby has today (Thursday, July 29) confirmed that BBC Scotland will be showing all 10 Friday night FOSROC Super6 matches live on the BBC Sport Scotland website, BBC iPlayer and on the Scottish Rugby website.

This announcement comes ahead of the kick-off to the second season of FOSROC Super6 on Friday night with Boroughmuir Bears hosting rivals Heriot’s at Meggetland.

The coverage will begin at 7.15pm, prior to kick-off at 7.30pm, with Paul Mitchell on commentary duty this weekend, along with former Boroughmuir Bears captain and FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy Coach, Chris Laidlaw.

Short highlights of all 33 matches will be available on the BBC Sport Scotland website and Scottish Rugby channels over the course of a weekend, while extended highlights of all matches will be available on the Scottish Rugby website every Monday.

In addition to the Friday night games, Scottish Rugby has secured coverage of every Sunday match on free-to-air channel, FreeSports. Coverage will begin at 1.15pm each week, with highlights of the Friday and Saturday matches shown during the Sunday show.

This Sunday, Jenny Drummond will be hosting the programme from Millbrae, with commentary from Stuart McFarlane and former Scotland international and record points scorer, Chris Paterson.

The FOSROC Super6 commentary team features, Stuart McFarlane, Hugh Dan MacLennan, Paul Mitchell, Jamie Lyall, Rory Hamilton and Bruce Millar.

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Group Marketing & Commercial Toni Blackhurst said: “We are delighted to be working with BBC Scotland to deliver coverage for the FOSROC Super6 tournament again. The success in the inaugural year of the tournament is really shown from the fact that we have interest from both BBC Scotland and FreeSports.

“We can’t wait to see this tournament get underway again this week and would like to thank FOSROC, BBC Scotland and FreeSports for supporting rugby in Scotland.”
