Friday 25th of July saw Mortonhall GC host the WFC 150th Celebration Golf Day in association with the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity.

68 golfers took to the course in glorious conditions and the scoring across all teams was exceptional.

The worthy winners - “ Hamilton’s Heroes” (pictured below) - carded a staggering net 52 and were rewarded with Oak & Black plaques and a voucher for their own Royal & Awesome kit.

Unfortunately no one carded a Hole in One at the 17th as they would have been £15k richer thanks to the kind sponsorship of the aforementioned Royal & Awesome.

Saying that, the Nearest the Pin [6foot by Ali Rowe] and the Longest Drive [a staggering 420 yards by Harry Carruthers] both yielded bumper funds for the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity who assisted on the day and took over £1750 in on course donations

Following an excellent lunch and prize giving, we were all royally entertained by our own Willie Hunter, as well as speeches from Watsonian Golf Club's Andrew Weir and Kate Dixon from the Sick Kids Charity.

Willie then hosted a golf themed auction which saw 5 lots generate over £2800 for the WFC 150th Fund.

Special mention to Mortonhall Club Captain, John Cooper, and all the staff in the clubhouse and on the course for hosting a fantastic event. A huge thanks also goes to all who attended and contributed on the day – we may even look to make this an annual event!
