Scottish Rugby has announced the FOSROC Super6 final will take place at Scotstoun Stadium, home to Glasgow Warriors.

The final game of the inaugural tournament will be held on Saturday, March 28 (kick-off 7.20pm) and broadcast live on BBC Scotland. In the first six rounds of the FOSROC Super6, five of the games were broadcast live on Scottish Rugby TV and on BBC Sport Scotland’s website, totalling over 115,888 views.

The competition has seen 148 tries scored across 26 matches with an average of six tries per game. The average points difference in each match has been a mere 11 points, demonstrating the competitiveness of the majority of the matches to date.

Just seven points currently separate the top three teams in the FOSROC Super6.

Watsonians are top with 32 points with Heriot’s Rugby just behind them on 29.

Southern Knights are in third position on 25 with Ayrshire Bulls in fourth on 23 points with a game in hand. Stirling County and Boroughmuir Bears complete the league standings with 13 and nine points respectively.

Teams have one round left of competition, with Ayrshire Bulls and Boroughmuir Bears two games left, to determine their league standings before play-offs the weekend of Friday 20 to Sunday, March 22 and the finals weekend.

League standings at the end of the regular tournament will dictate the hosts for the play-offs, first and second place earning home advantage. Those in fourth will travel to first place and third place will travel to second place. Those teams who finish in fifth and sixth place at the end of the regular tournament will play the first of two legs during the play-offs.

As well as the final at Scotstoun, a further two games will also be played on the finals weekend. The third-place play-off final will be hosted by the losing team in the first v fourth place play-off, they will host the runners up of the second v third place play off. Fifth and sixth place will play for the second time to confirm their final standing.

FOSROC Super6 Tournament Director Stephen Gemmell said: “It’s fantastic for the tournament that the final of the FOSROC Super6 can take place a Scotstoun Stadium.

“The playing surface and professional facilities that Scotstoun boasts will provide a great platform for the climax of the competition and provides a destination final to which all of the teams can aspire.

“It is also great news that the match will be broadcast live on BBC Scotland as this allows the best of part-time professional rugby in Scotland to be showcased to an audience across the country”.
